Chandler Osteopathy offers a mobile service where a practitioner will see you in the comfort of your own home. Patients find this maximises the benefits of treatment as they are in a familiar and relaxed environment, taking the stresses out of visiting a clinic. This service is also useful for those with limited time or mobility, eliminating any travel and the costs associated. This service is also carried out at your place of work or sports club at no extra cost.

As a patient you are given the time to sit with your osteopath and discuss in detail your current problem and medical history. During this discussion your osteopath may ask a variety of questions, regarding your lifestyle; such as your work environment, leisure pursuits, diet and medical history.  This enables the osteopath to thoroughly investigate each individual case, before considering the safest, most suitable and effective avenue of treatment.

Following this discussion your osteopath will examine your posture and take you through a series of orthopaedic joint assessments.  Depending on your symptoms the osteopath may feel it necessary to perform a neurological, cardiovascular or respiratory examination to help them reach a diagnosis.

After a diagnosis is reached, both you and the osteopath discuss the best and most appropriate treatment plan.  This ensures any treatment given is tailored to your lifestyle, making it achievable, specific and effective.

Treatments will involve manual therapy techniques including massage, joint mobilisation, gentle rhythmic stretching of both muscles and joints, muscle energy techniques, functional and cranial.  Acupuncture, taping and advice on how to manage and prevent further injury may also be given.

What to wear
In order to reach a diagnosis it is important to examine the patient as a whole, taking into account posture and overall structure.  Therefore it is recommended that you wear appropriate underwear or shorts so as to be comfortable during examination and treatment.  Towels will be provided for patient modesty throughout and options are always communicated with you, the patient.
